The Keep Nine Amendment

The Keep Nine Amendment states: “The Supreme Court of the United States shall be composed of nine Justices.”

Last year a bipartisan, nonpartisan group of former State Attorneys General formed the Coalition to Preserve the Independence of the United States Supreme Court. Of the original 15 AGs, 8 were Democrats and 7 were Republican. The KeepNine Amendment now has the support of over 180 members of Congress and a growing list of State: Legislative Chambers, Governors, Lieutenant Governors, Attorneys General, Secretary of State, Treasurer, and Auditor.

Most important we have built a large grassroots network of support across the United States for the KeepNine Amendment. We urge all Americans, regardless of party, to endorse the “Keep Nine” Amendment. Your support will ensure the U.S. Supreme Court remains an independent guardian of our rights and freedoms for future generations.
